Building 1,000 Carpenters In-House

When the company was founded in 1989,

Akimoto envisioned that the carpenters in Japan would be extinct in 30 years.

Why?

The reasons:

1. Traditional Japanese style wooden houses were becoming less popular

2. Prefabricated homes were increasingly becoming efficient and convenient

3. Carpenters were losing direct contact with their clients

4. Becoming a carpenter requires hard training

There are more reasons, but Akimoto, raised in a family of carpenters thought,

“If carpenters disappear, who is going to build Japanese style wooden houses?”

“If I can collect and manage as many carpenters as possible,

client who wants to build high quality buildings will have to come to me.”

This is how the company started.

In 20 years, Akimoto build 100 carpenters.

In less than 10 years since then, we now have over 200.

They are the asset of our company, and potentially,

the asset of Japanese architecture.

We will see.
