Traditionally, all the shops were closed from Dec 31 till Jan 3.

On Dec 31, we eat SOBA noodles with the family to close the year.

Till Jan 3, we survive with delicious lunch box (above), MOCHI soup, and SAKE.

All the contents in the lunch box has a meaning for example:

Lobster: long life

Fish eggs: multiply

Beans: work hard

Egg roll: education

Small orange & chestnut cream : lucky
