The Womb of Mt Fuji.

According to the oldest history book in Japan (Kojiki古事記), the goddess married a grandson of the great God of Sun (Amaterasu天照大御神).

Here the beautiful goddess representing Mt Fuji, “Praise for Cherry Blossoms” (Kono-hana-sakuya-hime 木花開耶姫命) gave birth to her three kids in the middle of fire. One of the kid is the ancestor of the Japanese emperor.

Why she gave birth inside the fire? Because she got pregnant in just one day after they got married and her husband doubted it must be the baby of someone else. She proved herself innocent by giving birth inside the fire.

It is believed that this tunnel is the womb of the goddess.

Scientifically, it is a giant tree knocked down by lava from the explosion of Mt Fuji.

Old stories are so imaginative and creative.
